Taking place over three days at the beginning of May, The Coronation of King Charles and Camilla promises to be a spectacle of traditional English pageantry alongside contemporary performances of music, art and community.
Beginning with ‘The King’s Procession’ from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, The Coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla will see people line the streets of Central London to witness and record this momentous moment in history.
Justin Welby, The Most Rev. and the Rt Hon. the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, will lead the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey which promises to look towards the future whilst still respecting the pageantry and traditions of old.
After the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey, ‘The Coronation Procession’ from Westminster Abbey back to Buckingham Palace will be the largest ceremonial procession of the day and will grant onlookers incredible photo opportunities of King Charles and Queen Camilla as well as all Members of the Royal Family. It is not yet confirmed whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be in attendance but if they do appear, this will only add to the excitement.
The final part of the first day of The King Charles Coronation will see The Royal Family appear on the famous balcony of Buckingham Palace to wave and celebrate with their loyal subjects and visitors to London.
The second day of The Coronation of King Charles and Camilla will consist of a spectacular Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle with tickets in high demand, available in pairs via a special ballot.
The Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle will include many global music stars and famous performers. King Charles and Queen Camilla and other members of The Royal Family will attend The Coronation Concert to witness a world-class orchestra perform musical favourites led by the world’s greatest music and dance stars.
The Coronation Big Lunch will see communities across the UK take part in street parties, garden gatherings, park parades and other community celebrations of The King Charles Coronation.
Also on this important second day of The Coronation of King Charles and Camilla, iconic locations all over the UK will see illuminations, lasers, projections and drone displays honour the occasion for ‘Lighting Up The Nation’.
The final day of The King Charles Coronation is ‘The Big Help Out’. The Big Help Out is organised by The Together Coalition and is an opportunity for volunteers to help out their local communities with various initiatives.
