St James’s Church, Paddington will be hosting a 90th Birthday concert on Saturday 14 April. In honour of renowned violist Eric Sargon, The Whitehall Orchestra will perform a programme which includes the Overture of Verdi’s opera the Force of Destiny, the Cappricio Italien by Tchaikovsky and the Rosenkavalier Waltz Sequence No.1 by Strauss.
Eric, who has been a member of the Whitehall Orchestra for over 40 years, will perform a viola solo during the course of the evening as part of the composition ‘Harold In Italy’ by Berlioz. The concert will be conducted by Michael Nebe, who has been in post as Musical Director and Conductor of the Whitehall Orchestra since 1990.
